iLead is an intensive two-week leadership program that takes place once every year, usually between the months of July and August. Applicants to this program must meet the basic eligibility criteria and fulfil other application requirements. Entrance into the iLead Summer School is competitive and our iLead Scholars, drawn from multidisciplinary and diverse backgrounds, display an impressive capacity for exceptional leadership. Typically, no more than 25 scholars are selected every year for the summer school.
The school is run by facilitators who are experts in a variety of fields relating to leadership. Every year, we also welcome as special guests and motivators, a handful of distinguished young Africans and other outstanding leaders making real positive impact in their fields of expertise, their local communities or around the world.
At the iLead Summer School, our facilitators, motivators and scholars enjoy a rich and open atmosphere for interaction. Together, they dissect some of Africa's most pressing social, economic and political issues, and prescribe practical and innovative solutions to challenges identified at local, regional, continental or global levels. Scholars are then challenged and encouraged to take practical steps to implement their ideas for positive change.
Our alumni become part of, and benefit from, an impressive and growing network of present and future leaders that work together, pooling their talents and resources, to solve some of Africa's most pressing issues. Members of our alumni Leaders Network are also involved in organized advocacy on issues of importance to Africans, which result in productive changes and far-reaching benefits for the continent.
